I'm back, It's been a crazy two weeks and not much time to post. But as of 10:30 pm last night I completed all my yearbook deadlines and with Halloween behind us things should be getting back to normal. October is always crazy for me although I won't complain. For those of you who don't know I run a photography business that my father started 36 years ago. We shoot youth sports and we contract with high schools. So this time of year all the images are due to our schools to be turned in to the yearbook companies. Yesterday I picked up LG (little guy) from kindergarten at 3 and instead of going home like we normally do, we headed back to the studio so I could continue working. My husband (did I mention he rocks!) came and picked up LG and brought me a VentiCoffeeFrappucinoLiteWithAnExtraShotBlendedWithNoWhip
which kept me going until 10:30 last night and I finished all!
Above is a pic of (from left to Right) Michelle, Tara and Me at a Dark and Elegant dinner party. We were told to look serious for the pic and then of course cracked up at our selves as soon as the picture was snapped. Michelle's husband is a chef and together they served the most incredible, I think it was a four course meal(too much champagne to remember for sure). Very, Very fun. You all should try this next year. Have an adult sit down Halloween dinner with your favorite peeps and require that everyone come Elegantly dead! Costumes are a snap. Pick your fave little black dress...add a cape, and dead make up and you're good to go!
Then there was LG's costume. It was really easy this year. He wanted to be a Dinobot...more specifically a pterodactyl Dinobot (thank god for the internet or we would never have found a pterodactyl). We had to explain a lot because Dinobots have not re-surfaced with the new wave of Transformers. These are retro Transformers if you will. A costume that my 5 year old decided on whilst surfing Google images for Transformers. (yes I said Whilst and yes you should monitor your children while they are surfing google images for anything...an innocent search can turn up someone's kinky adult idea which results in some panicky 5 yr old eye covering and frantic how the hell do I get out of this mouse clicking) ;)
Then there was our annual Pumpkin day at The Ranch. That's my dad leaning against the trailer. No he doesnt normally wear tie dye or a ginormous peace sign around his neck. That was his costume. He grows pumkins for us to pick and takes us on a hay ride around the property followed by the annual pumpkin carving contest.
Ok enough about non sewing stuff. Here is my plan. I am now on a mission. I have sketched out 9 different designs...yes nine! These are just sketches, hopefully I can translate them into real functional designs. They are not all totes or bags either. Intrigued?? lol. Well, even if your not I will be revealing them one by one. Then I will be opening my etsy shop. (No seriously Tara, I mean it this time. lol) So stay tuned for my fall collection. :)
